Little Gia had to go on oxygen after birth, and she has been off and on since that time. She he also receiving food and antibiotics through an IV, as they were afraid she may have contracted pneumonia. She also has fluid in her lungs.
The last report was positive--her white blood cell count was going down, and she seemed to be breathing with less difficulty. She was being weaned off of her oxygen. Please pray that she continues to improve and grow stronger. Her mommy and daddy haven't gotten to hold her very much, and if she keeps getting better, she'll be able to leave the nursery and spend some time in their room.
We are so excited to be an aunt and uncle again! Welcome to the world, Gia! We love you so much already!
