We are home and finally feeling settled, new items received for Christmas in their new homes, Christmas decorations stored away until next year, and clean laundry folded and put away.
As seems to be the trend lately, I did a terrible job of taking pictures of our Christmas festivities, but we had a wonderful trip to Illinois to spend time with family and friends.
Our little family celebrated our own Christmas the Sunday before we left, a beautiful and very snowy morning!
Abe kind of took over playing with Charlie’s kaleidoscope:
Charlie was fine with that, though. He was way more interested in the Hershey kisses that were in his stocking:
For Abe’s main gift, we cleaned up Ryan’s old iPod Touch. We disabled internet access, installed all of Abe’s games and music, and got him a new case. His very own now! Daddy showing Abe all the neat apps:
After baths later that night, in their new matching jammies:
Painting with some of their new craft supplies while Mommy packed for IL the next morning!
Abe got a new bike from Grandma and Papa! He is very excited about it!
Apparently so is Charlie—he climbed up on it the second Abe got off!
Christmas morning, taking a bath before church at Nana and Papa’s:
Later in the week, Papa Funk checked the ice to see how thick it was and determined it was safe enough to play on!
And now, we welcome 2014. We had a quiet evening at home to ring in the New Year, and we’re looking forward to all it may hold. May the peace of God surpass your understanding and keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus this year and always!
