The last of Charlie’s birthday celebrations took part on his actual birthday, the 24th, a simple “party” here at home with just the 4 of us.
He had requested meatballs for his birthday dinner, so we had garlic-herb meatballs, roasted sweet potatoes, and steamed broccoli. Charlie ate half of one sweet potato slice and one broccoli floret. He refused the meatballs. That kid! Typically, he can’t have dessert or a treat unless he eats (at least a good amount) of his meal, but we let him have his cake anyway since it was his birthday. He ate it all, no surprise there!
After dinner he opened his gifts: a box of lemon heads from Abe and a play tent from Daddy and Mommy.
We are so thankful for our little boy!
Charlie-Bear, you are a delight to us! You are playful, stubborn, sweet, creative, determined, ornery, and altogether precious. We humbly thank God for the gift He has given us in you and celebrate your life. Happy Birthday, we love you!
Getting his cupcake:
Blowing out his candles! Afterward he told us his cake was “hot”!
The tent-see Charlie inside?! It is quite large for our little home right now, so it probably will have to come and go from time to time. But, we thought it would be a fun and unique gift, and Lord willing, we will someday have a basement where they can have it up to play in all the time!
We’ve since put blankets in it and had a lot of fun snuggling up to read inside!
Abe in the tent:
And lastly, the Birthday Boy peeking through the window!
