This huge milestone that we've known and wondered about from the very moment we began medical school is now in the rearview mirror. Of course, we still have to wait for the scores to be released (around July 10, we've been told), but for now, we're on vacation! We're looking forward to 2 weeks with our dear families before Ryan begins rotations on July 1. Thank you so, SO very much to everyone who offered up prayers on our behalf--we felt them and are so grateful for your love!
We headed out to Noodles and Co. to celebrate 1. being done with boards, 2. Father's Day, and 3. my birthday! Did you know that if you sign up for the Noodles and Co. birthday club, they give you a free entrée (up to $9)? Not even a buy one, get one, but a completely free meal! Not many places do that anymore these days! So, I redeemed that for my birthday month, and Ryan used some of his birthday money to treat the rest of the family. It was delicious!
We had to walk a few blocks to get back to the car, and it started raining on us as we walked. While we waited to cross at a stoplight, we got pretty wet. Abe thought it was absolutely hilarious! Once we were home, we planned to make popcorn and watch a movie, but the power went out as the storm became more intense. SO, we hung out for a while, reading with some candles lit. But with all the darkness, we found that we grew tired very quickly, and we ended up just going to bed early! It wasn't quite the celebratory evening we expected, but it was so nice to just have Ryan home and not looking at any study materials.
Abe did take this picture of us before the power went out. Just lounging on a Wednesday evening at 8 PM--it's been a LONG time since we've been able to do that! Love my hubby!
