Thursday was coloring Easter eggs. This was the best we got:
After he got home Friday evening, we wolfed down some pizza and took off to Good Friday service. We were able to sit with friends, and both boys headed to childcare, so we were able to savor the service.
After a dentist appointment Saturday morning, we met the boys’ buddy, Tinashe, and his family at their church’s Easter Extravaganza—wow, what an incredible event! They had 10,000 eggs scattered throughout the fields around the church! It was so fun to watch the boys and their approaches to egg hunting. Abe was into the chase, the experience. He would grab one egg (amongst a ton of others nearby) and then take off to get another one clear on the other side of the field! He told me that it didn’t matter how many eggs we got, it just mattered that we had a fun time :) Now Charlie, on the other hand, was simply into quantity. He found an area laden with eggs and just stuffed each one into his bag. His bag was dragging the ground and easily over double the amount that Abe got!

Beyond the egg hunt, they had face art, crafts, a bouncy house (Charlie LOVED) and bouncy obstacle course (Abe LOVED), funny family Easter photos, popcorn, cotton candy, brats, and hot dogs, and a really sweet video about Jesus targeted toward the kids. And, it was all free of charge! It was truly an awesome afternoon.

Saturday late afternoon I got to run errands (by myself!), and Saturday night, we watched our friends’ daughters so they could have a date night. The kids all enjoyed playing together!
Sunday we celebrated the resurrection of our Savior! The weather was glorious. After church we were able to relax a bit before we headed to Shayne and Emily’s for dinner. Some other friends, Craig and Jennie, joined us too. They’re moving away for residency in June, so we were so glad to have some time with them! So excited for them, but sad to see them go. The kids played really well together, and it was nice enough to walk to the neighborhood park. It was a lovely evening.
